Very few attorneys can match Bob's impressive background. Born in Alexandria, Virginia, Bob graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. degree, cum laude, in Economics. He received his law degree from the College of William and Mary in 1984. After graduating from law school, Bob was chosen for a prestigious federal law clerk position, clerking for Judge James C. Cacheris in United States District Court in Alexandria, Virginia.
After finishing his clerkship, Bob spent a year with an insurance defense law firm and then was hired as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Fairfax County. In his four years as a prosecutor under the tutelage of legendary Fairfax Commonwealth’s Attorney Bob Horan , Battle tried over 50 jury trials and handled thousands of non-jury cases. Bob also spent two years as the Prosecutor for the City of Fairfax.
Since leaving the prosecutor's office in 1990, Bob has had an extremely active litigation practice in Virginia and DC. Bob was married in 1999 and moved to Richmond, Virginia and has rapidly built a thriving practice in the Richmond area.
Bob has received the highest rating for Legal Ability and Ethics a lawyer can receive by Martindale-Hubbell ("AV rating"). He was also recently informed that he is eligible for inclusion in The Bar Register of Pre-Eminent Lawyers.
