It seems that I spoke too soon yesterday when I reported that there were five driving under the influence (DUI) collisions since last weekend. Early Tuesday morning CHP officers were called to another Marin County DUI collision on Highway 101, between Sausalito and Mill Valley. 18 year-old Juliana Grevesmuhl allegedly struck the side of another car while trying to change lanes and flipped over several times. Luckily, Ms. Grevesmuhl walked away with relatively minor injuries, and didn't seriously hurt anyone else. However, Ms. Greveshul was booked into the Marin County jail for felony DUI. The District Attorney may file felony DUI charges if someone else was injured as a result of Ms. Greveshul's DUI.
As I said yesterday, six DUI collisions in less than a week will surely lead to one result: Greatly increased DUI patrols and enforcement. If you are planning to go out on the town this weekend be sure to make plans for getting home safely.
