Fewer DUI Arrests by CHP Over 4th of July

According to an article in the Vallejo Times Herald, the California Highway Patrol Golden Gate Division saw a decrease in the number of driving under the influence (DUI) arrests compared to last year.  Between Tuesday and Wednesday, that division made five DUI arrests, compared to 15 DUI arrests over the same period last year.

This reduction was likely caused by the fact that the Fourth of July fell on a Wednesday this year.  Those stiffs like me who had to go to work on the sixth may have taken it easy over the highway.  We'll have to see what next year brings, and if you can't wait that long, there is always Labor Day Weekend coming up soon.
