Driving under the influence (DUI) arrests were up this Memorial Day Weekend in Sonoma County over last year. According to an article in the Petaluma Patch, the California Highway Patrol arrested 34 drivers in the Santa Rosa area for DUI. Last year, the total was 27 DUI drivers.
Among the notable arrests this year was one Ramon Ramirez, of Richmond. Mr. Ramirez allegedly drove his Lexus into a tree with two passengers. Mr. Ramirez may have had two prior DUI convictions, including one from a month ago. He was charged with felony DUI with injury, driving on a suspended license, and probation violation.
