According to a press release from the San Francisco Police Department, driving under the influence (DUI) arrests were down significantly over the Memorial Day Weekend. San Francisco law enforcement report 27 DUI arrests this year, compared to 42 arrests over the same perior last year. That represents a 55% decline in DUI arrests in San Francisco. Regardless of how you view DUI law enforcement in the Bay Area, these numbers are good news.
Sonoma County also reported their arrests for Memorial Day Weekend. The 13 Sonoma County law enforcement departments reported 53 DUI arrests, 3 DUI related injuries, and no fatal crashes. They do not report how this differed from last year.
