A Santa Clara county judge has sentenced a Saratoga man to three years in state prison and revoked his driver's license for life for a hit-and-run accident. Judge Chatman noted the defendant's callousness and lack of remorse when imposing her harsh sentence. The defendant was on probation for driving under the influence (DUI) at the time of the accident. It was also alleged that he tried to conceal his involvement in the accident after the fact.
It is important for people to realize that it is possible for one's license to be revoked for life after certain convictions. Most notably is felony assault with a motor vehicle. If you use your car to intentionally strike someone, even if slightly, and even if no injury is caused, it is possible to suffer lifetime license revocation.
